Best beaches of Koh Samui

Best beaches of Koh Samui
by Julia Chestikova December 26, 2017

Samui is one of the most popular islands for winter holidays. When going on vacation, tourists always have a question about choosing a beach. Some of them are very noisy, merry and crowded, but they have all the infrastructure, others are very quiet, almost untouched by civilization, which are conducive to solitude and quiet rest. I have already told you about my loved ones, but now I will tell you about everything. After all, if you are going to Samui, I am sure that this information will be fundamental when choosing a place to live on the island.

 Chaweng beach.
The most popular beach on Samui. So how exactly on this beach is the entertainment center of the island, so there are all the sun beds, restaurants, cocktails, varied cuisine, and bars and crazy parties at night. In general, you can not leave this beach.
The sea here is not deep, but very clean.

 Lamai beach.
The second most popular beach. It is much calmer and more comfortable here. Wide beach, swim comfortable. There are dozens of great restaurants, bars and entertainment places on the beach, but still, this beach is more often chosen by older people. ⠀

 Coral Cove beach.
One of the most beautiful beaches on Samui from the point of view of the underwater world. Ideal for those who like to snorkel and admire the sea inhabitants. There are few restaurants here, so if you prefer an active holiday, then you should go here. The sand here is larger than on other beaches.

 Crystal Bay beach.
Very picturesque beach The photos here are unreal beauty! Water is almost always here a magical turquoise color. This place is often chosen for holidays with children because of the gentle entrance to the sea. ⠀

Chong mon beach.
One of the most popular beaches among Russian tourists. In the high season here is simply not crowded. On the beach there are many bars and restaurants, but … at low tide you will walk 10 minutes, in order to go into the water at least to the waist the water goes very far and if you are not a fan of just wetting the legs, then I recommend you to consider other beaches for relaxation.

Thongson beach.
This is a beach with some of the most expensive hotels in Samui. But since in the kingdom of Thailand all beaches are public, it does not matter. You can easily get to it and spend time there. The entrance to the water is sandy, gently sloping, which is again very convenient for families with children. Entertainment, however, there is practically no.

Beach Hotel W-Retreat (W-Retreat Koh Samui Beach).
The beach at one of the most expensive hotels of the island, in the first place, is distinguished by its purity from any other beach on Koh Samui. Also, this beach will be remembered for all of its sandy spit, projecting several tens of meters into the sea. The photos here are very beautiful. And considering that all beaches in Thailand are public, you can get here without any visible problems.

 Samrong beach.
Another beach at the hotel, which is not very beautiful, but has its own peculiarity in the form of the mountains, which offers stunning views.

 Hua Thanon beach.
A small wild beach in the south of the island. The entrance to the water is rocky and not very convenient, cleanliness also suffers, but here you can do kitesurfing.

 Thong Krut beach.
This is generally one of the most obscure beaches on Samui. The infrastructure is really weak at all, it’s almost impossible to swim here, but on the shore there are a couple of fish restaurants, for the sake of which tourists and locals make a considerable way to try the freshest seafood there.

 Taling Ngam beach.
A picturesque beach with a stunning turquoise sea. Also one of my favorite ones. And given the location of this beach, here are some of the coolest and most amazing sunsets on the island.

 Lipa Noi beach.
Another uncrowded beach, located in the western part of the island with the same scanty infrastructure as the previous one, but with stunning hotels on the shore and very beautiful sunsets. There are almost never waves here at all, so a holiday with children here will succeed 100%.

 Bang Po beach.
The beach is 6 km long with much more developed infrastructure, but still it is far behind on this point from the neighboring Maenam beach. There is only 1 mini-market and several restaurants on the beach. Housing prices are much lower than on the neighboring beaches, so I recommend it for longer stays and holidays with children. The sea here is always clean and without waves, therefore safety is top notch.

 Bang Rak beach.
One of the most acceptable beaches for wintering. Nearby are large shopping centers, many cafes and restaurants, but the sea is not very clean and shallow, sometimes you can find a rocky bottom. But prices are low and there are no crowds of tourists.

 Bophut beach.
Beautiful beach for a long stay on the island. The entrance is gentle, which immediately becomes safe for swimming with children. There are a lot of shops and cafes within walking distance, but in the central part of the beach there is a tourist gathering place for excursions, there are a lot of boats and therefore it will not be nice to swim here.

 Maenam beach.
The beach is very long, it seems sparsely populated. Cafes, bars and restaurants are evenly distributed over the entire length, so there will not be a crush here in any of the places. The sea is clean, the entrance is not flat, so from the heart you can swim and dive.

 Ban Tai beach.
My most favourite beach Family vacation here. The sea is clean, the entrance is gentle, turquoise water, the beach is wide on the shore there are several bars and cafes, there are almost no shops. In the season on the beach you can meet a huge number of families with young children. The main road and the sea share a quiet jungle, where there is a large number of residential complexes. Here you can find a quiet and relaxing holiday on the sand, as well as places for beautiful photo shoots on the rocks. The sunsets here are magical.

When choosing a beach, pay attention to each of the criteria: the width of the beach, entering the sea, cleanliness, entertainment and food. Choose a beach, the conditions of which will meet your needs. After all, if you have to go every day to have lunch on another part of the island, I think that after a week or two it will already bring some inconvenience.
